Woolworth - Acts of Violence and Agression (AOVA) CPTED Assessment

Engaged by Woolworths 360, The Design Partnership was tasked to review the Woolworths store Blueprint and identify ways to reduce crime and, most importantly, improve safety for both staff and customers.

Our assessment began with the Blueprint and then considered how stores were adapted from it, ensuring any modifications maintained security without hindering store operations.

The process used the key CPTED principles to test, question, evaluate and measure existing and future stores. CPTED design guidelines and a store assessment framework were developed to inform future decision-making.

The process was collaborative and included site reviews, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and workshops. This collective approach led to practical recommendations and presentations designed to support implementation and ensure everyone's voice was heard.
