The Crest Open Space - CPTED

Project type

CPTED Assessment - Sport and Recreation

Date

2024

Location

Gledswood, NSW.

Client

MODE on behalf of Camden City Council

While preparing the master plan for The Crest by landscape architects MODE, The Design Partnership undertook a Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) assessment for the Precinct. The Crest will be a new open space providing active and passive recreational space for the Gledswood Hills community. The new open space will be developed in two stages. Stage 1, the subject of this report, will comprise a nature playspace, learn-to-ride space, amenities, a carpark and a lawn.

The assessment considered the site against the seven key CPTED criteria: Surveillance, Lighting, Territorial Reinforcement, Environmental Management, Space and Activity Management, Access Control and The Three D's. Recommendations for the Precinct were identified and integrated into the final Masterplan and its Report.
