Stockton Active Hub - CPTED

Project type

CPTED - Recreational and Sporting

Date

2018

Location

Stockton, NSW

Client

Newcastle City Council

The City of Newcastle engaged the Design Partnership to prepare a Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) assessment for the Stockton Active Hub, a new all-ages playground and skate park located on the waterfront at Stockton. The assessment included the commuter car park, which services the ferry.

The purpose of the CPTED assessment was to test whether the Active Hub's design would prioritise safety and security, reduce the opportunity for crime, and enhance the overall livability of the area.

Through a collaborative process with the City of Newcastle, the Design Partnership reviewed the proposed design, identified potential security risks, and recommended safety measures within the Active Hub and its surrounding areas.
