Queen Street Mixed Use Precinct - CPTED
Project type
CPTED Assessment - Urban Revitalisation & Mixed Use
Date
2021 - ongoing
Location
Campbelltown, NSW.
Client
ALAND
The Design Partnership was engaged as the Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) consultants for the Queen Street mixed-use precinct in Campbelltown, which ALAND is developing. The project comprises several components including residential towers, commercial and retail spaces, a major supermarket chain, a childcare centre, a new park, and a neighborhood centre. The site, formerly a vacant DFO, supports the opportunity to revitalise the Queen Street precinct. The Design Partnership was chosen due to their experience applying CPTED principles to complex projects and their expertise in creating safer and more secure environments through environmental design. Through a collaborative process with ALAND, the Design Partnership undertook a CPTED analysis of the proposed design, identified potential security risks, and recommended improving safety measures within the precinct. The CPTED report guided the development team, so the design would prioritise safety and security while also contributing to the revitalization of the Queen Street precinct.
