The Design Partnership were engaged to undertake a Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) assessment and report of the proposed retail centre in Chisholm, which is located near Maitland. The new centre proposed to include a mix of uses including a major supermarket chain, specialty stores, tavern, gym, childcare, and associated car parking.
The purpose of the CPTED assessment was to test if the design of the retail centre would prioritise safety and securityof customers and surrounding residents. In a collaborative process with the Client, The Design Partnership reviewed the proposed design, identified potential security risks, and made recommendations to improve safety measures within the retail centre.
