Barton Park Sporting Precinct - CPTED

Project type

CPTED Assesment - Sporting and Recreation

Date

2021

Location

Banksia, NSW.

Client

MODE on behalf of Bayside Council

Bayside Council selected the Design Partnership to conduct a Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) assessment and prepare a report for the Barton Park sporting precinct upgrade.

The precinct upgrade includes new amenities and community facilities, a children's playground, and sports field upgrades. The purpose of the CPTED assessment was to ensure that the precinct's design would prioritise safety and security, reduce the opportunity for crime, and enhance the overall livability of the area.

Through a collaborative process with MODE, the Design Partnership analysed the proposed design against the CPTED principles, which led to identifying potential security risks. It made recommendations to improve safety measures within the precinct. The report guided the design team so that the final design would create a safe and welcoming community environment around the clock for all user groups.
