City of Greater Bendigo Public Art Audit. Policy and Plan

Development of a Public Art Audit, Policy and Plan for the City of Greater Bendigo. These documents were developed in collaboration with ARTSCAPE. The process included community and stakeholder engagement through face-to-face and online workshops. To provide greater opportunity to provide feedback, a wide range of engagement methods and timeframes were provided to the community and stakeholders.

The public art audit was a process that identified all existing artworks across the LGA, their condition, typology, materials, and the name of the artist. Recommendations were also provided for the artworks, such as the need for attribution or maintenance work.

The audit fed into the public art policy and plan process to help understand how public art has been commissioned, sited and cared for in the past and the best method in the future that works with Council's processes.
